SETTING UP "MAILTO" LINKS
Mailto links
set up a convenient way for your viewers to communicate with people associated
with your website. This communication is particularly important for the person
managing the website.
NOTE: This command
will not work for all your users. Each user's email program (like Outlook,
Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger) must be set to send email for that person.
This command will not activate a Web mail account. A
mailto link will not work on our lab computers!
Your hotspot can
be any combination of text, table, and/or image file.
Place your mouse pointer
over these items to identify the mailto: link.
To Insert a mailto

Highlight the text or
select the object you want to identify as the place for the
user to click.

Click the INSERT HYPERLINK
button (the chain link) on the toolbar.

In the INSERT HYPERLINK dialog box, click
the E-MAIL ADDRESS
icon on the left (if necessary) and then type the email address (or paste it
from the clipboard) in the E-MAIL ADDRESS box. FrontPage
automatically inserts the
mailto:
command.
